The Bison enter the ECHL for the 2024-25 season

The New York Rangers and Hartford Wolf Pack have announced that they have come to an affiliation agreement with one of the ECHL's new expansion franchises, the Bloomington Bison.

Bloomington will serve as the primary development team for the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.

The Bison will play their inaugural season in the 2024-25 at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois.

Phillip Barski was named as the teams inaugural head coach, he has spent the last two seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL.

This will be the first professional hockey team in Bloomington since the Bloomington Thunder played one season in the Southern Professional Hockey League in 2013-14.

Bloomington also played host to a United States Hockey League Team from 2014 through 2019.
