The New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils have completed a trade, with the Islanders sending defenseman Dennis Cholowski to the Devils for forward Adam Beckman.

Cholowski has one goal in six games with the Bridgeport Islanders and three goals and ten points in 33 games with the New York Islanders this season.

The 27-year-old has 13 goals and 40 points in 150 career NHL games with the Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals, and Seattle Kraken.

A first round pick of the Red Wings in 2016, Cholowski will report to New Jersey and will be ineligible for the AHL playoffs.

Beckman has 13 goals and 33 points in 43 games with the Utica Comets this season. He has 70 goals and 141 points in 224 career AHL games.

The 23-year-old recorded two assists in 11 games with the Minnesota Wild last season, he has three assists in 23 career NHL games.

A third round pick of Minnesota in 2019, he was traded to New Jersey from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Graeme Clarke in June.

Beckman is a great playmaker and will provide an offensive boost for a Bridgeport team that has the third-least amount of goals for in the AHL. He is a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Cholowski provides serviceable NHL depth for a Devils team that will be without Jonas Siegenthaler and Dougie Hamilton for an extended period of time. He is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
