    Grebenkin is pointless in seven games with the Maple Leafs, Rifai has four points in 17 game with the Marlies

    The Toronto Maple Leafs announced they have recalled forward Nikita Grebenkin and sent defenseman Marshall Rifai to the Toronto Marlies.

    Grebenkin was sent down on Dec. 10 and did not play in the Marlies game against Lehigh Valley that night. 

    The 21-year-old is pointless in seven games with the Maple Leafs this season but has quickly endeared himself to the fans, coaches, and his teammates. He has 10 points in 13 games with the Marlies.

    Rifai was recalled on Dec. 2 when Jani Hakanpaa was placed on injured reserve, he has yet to appear in a NHL game this season.

    The 26-year-old has four points in 17 games for the Marlies this season. He is pointless in two career NHL games. 

    The Beaconsfield, Que., native signed a two-year contract extension with Toronto in October.
