The Toronto Maple Leafs announced they sent forward Alex Steeves to the Toronto Marlies and placed Bobby McMann on injured reserve.
In a corresponding move the Leafs activated Matthew Knies and Auston Matthews from injured reserve.
Steeves went pointless in four games for the Maple Leafs during his call up and averaged 11:01 of ice time per game.
The 24-year-old will return to the Marlies where he has nine goals and 12 points in 10 games, leading the team in both categories.
Forwards Alexander Nylander and Nikita Grebenkin remain with the Maple Leafs, depriving the Marlies of two significant offensive pieces.
