    Two-time Calder Cup champion and former Hershey Bears forward Mike Vecchione has signed a contract with the KHL's Traktor Chelyabinsk, per Inside the AHL's Tony Androckitis.

    The 32-year-old will reportedly join former teammate Pierrick Dube who signed a one-year deal with Traktor last week.

    Vecchione recorded 19 goals and 39 points in 68 games with the Bears last season. He was been a member of the Bears for the past four seasons and was a key piece of Hershey's back-to-back Calder Cup wins in 2023 and 2024, including scoring the championship winning goal in 2023.

    The Saugus, Mass., native originally joined the Philadelphia Flyers on an entry level deal in 2017 after four seasons with Union College.

    In 473 career AHL games with the Bears, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, San Antonio Rampage, and Colorado Eagles he notched 135 goals and 300 points. He represented the Atlantic Division at the 2023 All-Star Game. He is pointless in three career NHL games with the Flyers and Washington Capitals. 

    Vecchione won a NCAA National Championship with Union in 2014 and led all of Division 1 with 63 points in 38 games in 2016-17. He captained the Garnet Chargers for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. 

    He joins DubeChase Priskie, Kieffer Bellows, and many other talented veteran AHL players who have signed in Europe during this free agency period.
