Before this announcement, Acciari had played in all 79 of the Penguins' games this season, posting five goals, seven assists, 12 points, 100 blocks, and 180 hits. Now, with this update from the Penguins, this is where Acciari's season will end.
At this juncture, the reason for Acciari being out for the remainder of the campaign has not been announced.
Acciari, 33, spent the first four seasons of his NHL career with the Bruins from 2015-16 to 2018-19. In 180 games with the Original Six club, he had 18 goals, 13 assists, 31 points, 505 hits, and a minus-10 rating. His time with the Bruins ended when he signed a three-year, $5 million contract with the Florida Panthers during the 2019 NHL off-season.
