In the second period Florida appeared to tie to game as Edmonton poked the puck into their own net, but the whistle was blown for a delayed penalty before the puck crossed the line.
Gustav Forsling tied the game late after Carter Verhaeghe hit the post. Evan Bouchard opened the scoring for Edmonton off a primary assist from Foegele.
Despite Florida drastically outshooting Edmonton Stuart Skinner continued his strong play. stopping 31 of 32 shots. Sergei Bobrovsky made a few big saves but could not steal the game for the Panthers, stopping 19 of 21 shots against.
If this simulation plays out, it will be a Canadian team's first Stanley Cup since 1993, and Edmonton's first since 1990.
