Simulating Vancouver vs. Nashville Game 6 in NHL 24. Can the Preds force a Game 7?

Simulating Vancouver vs. Nashville Game 6 in NHL 24. Can the Preds force a Game 7?

Our last simulation in the Vancouver vs. Nashville series was very close to what transpired in real life. The simulation predicted a 3-2 Nashville victory and limited the Canucks to only 16 shots in the game.

Well, we'll give NHL 24 credit, as Nashville took Game 5 in real life 2-1 and held Vancouver to only 20 shots.

The lineups we used for our simulation were the lines both teams rolled out for Game 5.

Vancouver's Projected Lines:

Suter - Miller - Boeser
Hoglander - Pettersson - Mikheyev
Joshua - Lindholm - Garland
Di Giuseppe - Blueger - Lafferty

Hughes - Hronek
Soucy - Myers
Zadorov - Cole

Silovs
DeSmith

Nashville's Projected Lines:

Forsberg - O'Reilly - Nyquist
Zucker - Sissons - Beauvillier
Jankowski - Novak - Evangelista
Sherwood - McCarron - Smith

Josi - Fabbro
McDonagh - Barrie
Lauzon - Carrier

Saros
Lankinen

NHL 24 predicts a very on-brand outcome for how this series has played out. The Canucks win a nail-bitter by a score of 2-1 and narrowly outshooting Nashville 23-22. It was quite the physical game for CPU vs. CPU. Hits were 40-36 in favour of Vancouver.

The Predators have the third-worst powerplay percentage in the 2024 NHL Playoffs at 10.5%. They had three opportunities in this game but failed to capitalize on the man advantage.

J.T. Miller and Conor Garland scored the goals for Vancouver. Roman Josi had the lone tally for the Predators.

Canucks have not announced their starter for tonight's game, but we slotted Arturs Silovs in net for them who made 21 saves.
