The SJSharksGaming Season Four Pacific Cup kicked off Jan. 10/24 with a cash prize of $8,000 going to the winning team. It was a fitting final matchup between the top two ranked teams, IslesGT and The Underdogs. The grand finals concluded on Sunday with IslesGT besting The Underdogs 4-2 in a best-of-seven series.

IslesGT has reached five Esports finals in its last seven events and has won four since last year.

IslesGT had a smooth ride to the finals, only dropping one game through the first four rounds, and had a +31 goal differential. Leading the way through the first four rounds was left winger Gabseh, who scored 18 goals, and center McFleury with 32 points. But right winger Fisher stepped up in the finals, scoring eight goals and tallying nine assists to go along with it.

McFleury finished the tournament with the most points with 47 in 19 games.

The Underdogs didn't have as smooth of a ride to the finals after 24th-ranked team Couch Kings gave them a run for their money in round two in what was a back-and-forth series. After winning game five against Couch Kings, they took care of business in round three against Unknown Talent. Then came round three against fifth-ranked Caps Gaming. The Underdogs went down 0-2 in their best-of-five before rallying back and completing the reverse sweep.

Left winger Boily led the charge offensively for his team, finishing with 20 goals and 22 assists in the tournament. Defenseman Deeks recorded the most points by a defenseman with 31, and his passing percentage of 80.8% was second best (amongst players with a minimum 15 games played).

Shoutout to Team BBB, who came in as the 31st-ranked team but fought to the Quarterfinals after sweeping 16th-ranked Are You Nervous in round one and then upsetting third-ranked Nationals in round two. They also were able to take one game in their series against IslesGT.
