Vegas stifled Colorado’s elite stars, holding a 100-point Martin Necas to a single assist while neutralizing Gabriel Landeskog. The Golden Knights' relentless structure left the Avalanche offense paralyzed.

The Colorado Avalanche’s Western Conference Final ended in a sweep `at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights, and the biggest issue was how quickly the offence just shut off.

Martin Necas had an incredible season, finishing with over 100 points for the first time in his career. None of that carried over here. He managed just one assist in the four-game series and was largely kept to the outside by Vegas’ structure.

Gabriel Landeskog did get one moment late in Game 4, scoring on a 6-on-5 to break the shutout, but that was about it offensively from the captain. Otherwise, he was pretty well contained through the series.

The scoring issues didn’t stop there either. Artturi Lehkonen, usually one of Colorado’s more reliable playoff finishers, didn’t register a point in the series. He also looked like he might be dealing with something physically, and it showed in how limited he was around the net and on the forecheck.

Outside of that, Colorado’s depth just couldn’t find another level. Vegas dictated too much of the play, and once the top end stopped producing, there wasn’t much left to lean on.
