The 2025 free agency season officially began six days ago, and the league has seen a number of crazy deals go down. Whether it was Mitch Marner moving from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Vegas Golden Knights in a sign-and-trade deal, or Nikolaj Ehlers choosing to leave the Winnipeg Jets and sign a six-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Among the moves, there have also been some that were a tad confusing, including the St. Louis Blues trading promising young winger Zack Bolduc to the Montreal Canadiens, or the New York Rangers trading established defenseman K’Andre Miller to the Hurricanes for prospect D-man Scott Morrow and picks.
