From a consistent forecheck to continual puck possession, Vancouver played their game to near perfection, to which Winnipeg had no answer.
As for defensive pairs, Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek once again led the charge for the Canucks. The two played 18:36 together at even strength, with Vancouver outshooting the Jets 18-4 when they were on the ice. The duo also posted an xGF% of 82.28, with the Canucks posting a 17-2 advantage in scoring chances and a 10-2 edge in high-danger scoring chances. They have taken their game to another level during this four-game win streak and continue to show that they can dominate against top lines of potential playoff opponents.
Lastly, this may have been the best game Ilya Mikheyev has had in 2024. He led Vancouver with six even-strength shots and registered three individual high-danger scoring chances while throwing two hits. While on the ice, the Canucks had a 12-6 shots advantage, with the Russian winger finishing the night with an xGF% of 62.86. Even though it is frustrating that he can't find the back of the net, if he can continue to have performances like this one, he should break out of his scoring slump sooner rather than later.
