The 20-year-old left-shot defenseman will head to the AHL to join a team fighting to make the playoffs. Abbotsford currently sits in 6th place in the Pacific division, two points ahead of 7th place and ten points ahead of the Henderson Silver Knights, who are in the first spot out of the playoffs.
Pettersson will also need to adjust to the size of the North American ice rink. It could take some time before he becomes a top producer. He joins a franchise that has developed defensemen exceptionally well.
