New Ducks head coach Greg Cronin is ready to show what he can do. Finally getting a leading role, Cronin is going to embrace this and the Ducks made a great decision to bring him in. He is going to help bring this franchise back from the dead and it all starts with the way that he prepares and it meshes well with the Ducks General Manager, Pat Verbeek.

It always helps when the people at the head of the snake are on the same wave length with things and for Anaheim, it's been a common theme among people since the hiring. Verbeek spoke about Cronin and what made him feel like the coach was the right person for the job.

"What I really like about Greg is he has old school principles and new school methods of teaching," Verbeek said. "I think it's a great combination."

Cronin is known for being a strong development coach that has the ability to get the best out of his players. He was a co-founder of the United States National Team Development Program, which has almost 400 NHL Draft picks to their name. Cronin is excited to bring some stability and winning back to Anaheim.

"So I've always had that timeline in my head. What can you do with 19-, 20-, 21- and 22-year-olds? Pat and I are already talking about that a lot."

The Ducks have missed the postseason for five straight seasons but they do have a ton of young talent within the roster. Cronin is going to be tasked with getting these guys up to speed and teach them how to win consistently on the highest stage.

Players such as Trevor Zegras, Troy Terry, Mason McTavish and Jamie Drysdale headline the youth movement for the Ducks. They also hold the second overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft as well so they will be getting a big difference maker.

Cronin has his work cut out for him, taking over a Ducks team that held the worst record in the league last season. But he embraces the challenge and the future is extremely bright out in Anaheim.
