The Bruins are heading in the wrong direction, so let's look at three players who could be traded by the deadline.

The Boston Bruins are continuing to lose and are doing so in a bad fashion. After falling to the Buffalo Sabres to a 7-2 final score on Jan. 28, they followed that up with a 6-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 30. With this, they have now dropped to fifth in the Atlantic Division standings with a 25-22-6 record.

Bruins president Cam Neely recently said that the team could retool its roster depending on how they play leading up to the deadline. Right now, they are struggling and heading toward being sellers. Due to this, let's discuss three Bruins who could be traded before the deadline passes.

    Brad Marchand

Brad Marchand is the Bruins' top pending unrestricted free agent and has created chatter in the rumor mill. If the Bruins find themselves out of the playoff race nearing March 7 and No. 63 is still not signed to an extension, he will need to be watched incredibly closely.

    Brad Marchand

Trading Marchand would undoubtedly be a franchise-altering move for the Bruins. However, it certainly can't be ruled out right now, given the Bruins' placement in the standings and his pending UFA status. However, if the Bruins extend him, it would put an end to all the noise. He's too valuable of a player to potentially lose for nothing, especially with Boston's weak prospect pool.

    Trent Frederic

If the Bruins decide to sell, Trent Frederic will likely be on the move. The 2016 first-round pick is a pending UFA and would be a popular target for playoff teams. This is because he provides plenty of grit, which is something contenders always look for.

    Trent Frederic

Frederic has had a disappointing season, posting seven goals, seven assists, and a minus-12 rating in 51 games. However, he also had 18 goals and 40 points just last season, so he can provide decent secondary scoring when playing at his best.

    Justin Brazeau

Justin Brazeau is another Bruin to watch as we get closer to the deadline. The 26-year-old winger has had a decent season, posting 10 goals, 20 points, and 81 hits in 50 games. However, like Marchand and Frederic, he is a pending UFA and is standing out as a potential rental.

    Justin Brazeau

Brazeau could generate interest from playoff teams looking for more scoring and size in their bottom six. He also has a bargain $775,000 cap hit, which adds to his value.
