This is certainly not a good look for the Bruins.
The Boston Bruins' season came to an end on Friday night, as the Florida Panthers defeated them by a 2-1 final score. While it was a tough way for the Bruins to go out, this season was still a success for a team that lost several notable players last summer.
However, the Bruins ran into one serious problem during the postseason and made some NHL history in the process.
In Game 6 against the Panthers, the Bruins recorded their seventh Too Many Men penalty, setting an NHL playoff record. It only took them two rounds and 13 games to hit this number. Each team that had previously shared the record with six made it to the Stanley Cup Final.
While the Bruins can't fix this issue now that their season is over, they must clean this up in 2024-25. It clearly became a major problem for them during the postseason, and they will run into more issues if it translates over to the next campaign.
