The Boston Bruins have announced that goaltender Michael DiPietro has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

DiPietro, 25, has had an excellent season down in the AHL with Providence. In 22 games, he has a 14-5-3 record, a 1.95 goals-against average, and a .930 save percentage. He also has been selected to the AHL All-Star Game because of his strong play.

DiPietro's recall comes after the Bruins pulled Jeremy Swayman during Jan. 22's contest against the New Jersey Devils due to the star goalie "dealing with something minor," as said by head coach Joe Sacco
