It has been a busy offseason for the Boston Bruins, but they are not done yet. As we inch closer to the middle of August, the Original Six club still needs to re-sign star goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

With Swayman being the Bruins' clear No. 1 starter heading into the 2024-25 season, many are naturally anxiously awaiting for his new deal to come to fruition. We have now been given a small update regarding contract talks with Swayman by Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs.

While on WEEI's Gresh & Fauria, Jacobs said this on the matter: "I try not to comment on player personnel contract negotiations. We are still negotiating with Sway. I hope that he’s ready to play come training camp. We have some things to work out. I’m sure we’ll get there."

With this update, it is clear that Jacobs and the Bruins' clear goal is to get Swayman signed to his next deal. While he noted that they still have some work to do to get the contract finalized, it is apparent that he is confident that it will get done.

    Swayman, 25, appeared in 44 regular-season games last season for the Bruins, recording a 25-10-8 record, a 2.53 GAA, and a .916 SV%. He also sported a .933 SV% and a 2.15 GAA in 12 playoff appearances.
