Is it time for the Bruins to give this forward another chance in the NHL?
Last month, the Boston Bruins placed forward Mikey Eyssimont on waivers. This was after he lost his spot in their lineup.
After clearing waivers, Eyssimont was sent down to the AHL's Providence Bruins by Boston.
Now, early on this season, Eyssimont is absolutely on fire with Providence.
In seven games this season for Providence, Eyssimont has already scored a ridiculous 10 glals and has recorded 13 points. Due to his dominance, he was recently named the AHL's Player of the Month for October.
Eyssimont is showing no signs of slowing down, either. He has three goals and five points in his last two games for Providence. He has also put together two hat-trick performances for Providence already this campaign.
With how well Eyssimont is playing for Providence, it is fair to wonder if he could get another chance on Boston's roster soon. This is especially so if Matthew Poitras ends up needing to miss time after exiting Boston's last game against the Vegas Golden Knights after being the recipient of a high hit.
If Eyssimont continues to play this well for Providence, perhaps he could get start to grab the attention of other NHL teams. Time will tell what happens on that front, but it is clear that he is playing amazingly in the AHL right now.
