This Bruins forward is generating a lot of interest around the NHL.

Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic has been talked about often in the rumor mill this season. It is understandable, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), and the Bruins have had mixed results this campaign.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman provided more information about Frederic's situation on the latest episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast. He also shared that the 2016 first-round pick is generating plenty of interest.

"There are definitely some teams out there that feel that the Bruins and Frederic won't be able to get a deal done." Friedman said.

    Friedman also added:

"He's the kind of player that playoff teams are going to want. They're really going to want a guy like that. He's a good teammate. He's competitive and a willing combatant He's a very popular teammate. So, I think there's a lot of interest in him... We'll see where it goes, but whatever the Bruins' intentions are here, they are getting a lot of calls about him."

If Frederic remains without an extension as we get closer to the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline, interest in his services should only increase. His gritty style of play and ability to provide secondary scoring when playing at his best make him a very appealing player to contenders.

In 32 games this season with the Bruins, Frederic has five goals, six assists, 96 hits, and a minus-13 rating. During this past season, he set career highs with 18 goals, 22 assists, 40 points, and 204 hits.
