This Bruins defender won't be in the lineup against the Rangers.

Boston's Cam Neely Could Be Next On The Hot Seat

The Boston Bruins will play the New York Rangers on Feb. 1. The Bruins' goal will be to bounce back after back-to-back terrible losses to the Buffalo Sabres and Winnipeg Jets

Unfortunately for the Bruins, they will again be without one of their top blueliners, as Hampus Lindholm won't be in the lineup.

While speaking to reporters after Jan. 31's practice, Bruins head coach Joe Sacco provided an update on Lindholm.

"He did not skate today," Sacco said. "I think that's part of the plan here that we have moving forward with him. Again, we're just making sure that when he's ready to go, that he's good. There's nothing really new to report on that. He wants to get back out there. Obviously, we have to wait until our medical team says he's ready to go."

Sacco also did not have an answer about whether or not Lindholm could return before the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off, noting that everything is on "a day-to-day basis."

Lindholm, 31, recently started practicing with the team, but the important blueliner clearly still has more work to do before he can return to game action. The Bruins miss him immensely, but they cannot rush him back too quickly, either.

In 17 games this season, Lindholm has three goals and seven points. He last played on Nov. 12 against the St. Louis Blues.
