If Elias Lindholm ends up needing to miss time, the Bruins should call up this forward.

Boston Bruins forward Elias Lindholm left the club's last game early with an upper-body injury. 

At this juncture, the Bruins have not provided an update about how serious Lindholm's injury is. If the Bruins center ends up needing to miss time because of it, the Original Six club has a clear replacement for him in Matthew Poitras.

Poitras, 20, has been playing wonderfully down in the AHL with the Providence Bruins since his demotion. In 12 games with Providence, he has four goals and 11 points. He also is currently on a five-point streak, where he has four goals and eight points over that span. 

With the Bruins needing more offense and Poitras being a center on a hot streak, he undoubtedly has a real case to be recalled. It will be intriguing to see if he gets another shot with the NHL club from here. If the Bruins choose to recall a player from the AHL, Georgii Merkulov could also be a player considered.
