This Sabres forward should be on the Bruins' wish list.
The Boston Bruins are in a peculiar spot. For the first time in a while, they are not a guaranteed playoff team. They are currently one point behind the Detroit Red Wings for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. However, Boston has played two more games than Detroit.
Due to the Bruins' placement in the standings, there is undoubtedly a real chance that they will make some changes to their group. While they may sell off some of their pending free agents, they also should not be afraid to add to their roster if it benefits them beyond this season.
When looking at potential trade candidates who are not on expiring contracts, Buffalo Sabres star winger Alex Tuch stands out.
Tuch, 28, has recently created some chatter in the rumor mill. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman wrote in his latest 32 Thoughts column that the big winger would generate interest from multiple teams if he is made available. He also specifically mentioned the Tampa Bay Lightning as a likely suitor.
However, when looking at the Bruins' roster, they certainly could use a forward like Tuch. It is no secret that one of the Bruins' weaknesses is at the second-line right wing position. They did not find a proper top-six winger replacement for Jake DeBrusk this off-season, and acquiring a player like Tuch would help fix that.

Tuch is in the middle of a strong season with the Sabres, posting 19 goals, 43 points, and a plus-15 rating in 54 games. With numbers like these, the 6-foot-4 winger could be a perfect addition to a Bruins club that desperately needs offense and help on the power play.
Tuch would also be more than a rental if acquired by the Bruins, as he has a bargain $4.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-26 season. This naturally adds to his appeal.
Nevertheless, if the Sabres officially make Tuch available, the Bruins would be wise to he skilled winger.
