The Boston Bruins will be picking seventh in the upcoming 2025 NHL Entry Draft after dropping two spots at the draft lottery. While this was certainly less-than-ideal news for the Bruins, they still have the opportunity to land a good prospect with that pick.

Recently, we here at The Hockey News Bruins discussed forward Jake O'Brien as a clear potential option for the Original Six club with the seventh-overall pick. However, thankfully for the Bruins, there are other notable prospects who have the potential to be available at pick No. 7, too. One intriguing name is Caleb Desnoyers.

Desnoyers, 18, is a 6-foot-2 center who has shown great promise at the QMJHL level with the Moncton Wildcats. During his first season with the club in 2023-24, he had 20 goals, 56 points, and a plus-2 rating. As solid a season as this was, he took a major step forward in 2024-25. In 56 regular-season games with the Wildcats this year, he had 35 goals and 84 points. He has also been dominant this post-season, recording nine goals and 24 points in 13 games.

Given how excellently Desnoyers has performed this season, there is undoubtedly a chance he will be scooped up by another team before the Bruins are on the clock. However, if he is still available at that point, the Bruins will certainly need to consider him, as he has the tools to blossom into a top-six forward at the NHL level.

It will be intriguing to see if the Bruins end up being the lucky club that lands Desnoyers at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft from here.
