The Boston Bruins have made several additions to their roster this offseason. Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, and Joonas Korpisalo are the most notable, while players like Max Jones, Riley Tufte, and Mark Kastelic provide them with more depth. Yet, it still would not hurt for the Bruins to add more competition to their training camp roster.

The Bruins notably lost a good chunk of skill on the wing this offseason, as Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen both signed with the Vancouver Canucks. The Bruins are hoping for prospects like Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov to be ready to jump to the NHL. While this is the case, bringing in a winger or two to training camp on a PTO would still not hurt.

One very interesting player who could make for a solid PTO addition is Alexander Nylander.

While Nylander has spent most of his professional career in the AHL, he showed this past season after being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets that he has the potential to make an impact in the NHL. In 23 games for Columbus, he posted 11 goals and 15 points. While he played very well for the Blue Jackets, they elected not to send him a qualifying offer.

With the Bruins needing more depth on the wing and Nylander’s hot finish to the season, he would be a very interesting player to consider on a PTO. The 2016 eighth-overall pick is clearly a skilled player and could give the Bruins more secondary scoring if he earned a deal with the Original Six club.
