Marat Khusnutdinov left a solid first impression with the Boston Bruins after being acquired from the Minnesota Wild at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. In 18 games with the Bruins following the move, he recorded three goals, five points, and 18 hits. This was after he had two goals and seven points in 57 games with the Wild before the trade.
Overall, Khusnutdinov showed promise after being acquired by the Bruins. Now, his goal will be to break out for the Bruins during the 2025-26 season and cement himself a full-time spot in their lineup because of it.
When looking at Khusnutdinov's resume, there is reason to believe that he could break out for the Bruins next season. For example, during the 2022-23 season with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL, he recorded 11 goals, 30 assists, 41 points, and a plus-15 rating in 63 games. These are solid numbers at the KHL level, so he certainly has some offensive upside. Perhaps he will tap into it more with the Bruins in 2025-26 because of it.
Furthermore, with Khusnutdinov still be only 23 years old, he certainly still has time to hit a new level for the Bruins as he continues to gain more experience. This is especially so when noting that he is still only 91 games into his NHL career.
With this, Khusnutdinov is certainly a player who fans should be keeping a very close eye on next season. The potential for him to emerge as a solid part of the Bruins' lineup is there, and it would be great for Boston if he breaks out for them next season. There is no question that they need more impactful young forwards, and they will be hoping Khusnutdinov can be just that for them.
