Jeremy Swayman has made a notable decision.

The Boston Bruins have been incredibly busy this summer, adding players like Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Max Jones, and more to their roster. However, GM Don Sweeney still has more work to do, as Jeremy Swayman remains unsigned near the end of the first week of July.

Swayman, 25, is a restricted free agent set to receive a significant raise from last season's $3.475 million cap hit. He received it through an arbitration hearing last offseason, and the Alaska native did not enjoy the process.

A shot by Florida Panthers right wing Vladimir Tarasenko (10) gets past Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman (1) for a goal during the second period of game three of the second round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs at TD Garden on May 10, 2024.

Now, one year later, Swayman decided not to elect for salary arbitration this time around. This is notable, as it may be an indicator that Swayman believes a deal between him and the Bruins is not too far away. It is important to note, however, that the Bruins can still file for arbitration with their star netminder. They have until Saturday at 5 p.m. ET to make that decision.

Swayman appeared in 44 regular-season games last season, posting a 25-10-8 record, a .916 SV%, and a 2.53 GAA. He then followed that up with a fantastic postseason, recording a .933 SV% in 12 appearances.
