The NHL Network recently released their quarter century team, which consists of both active and retired players from around the entire NHL.

Without any surprise, Boston Bruins legend Patrice Bergeron made the NHL Network's quarter century team. Given how excellent of a two-way center he was throughout his career, he undoubtedly earned this.

After being selected by the Bruins with the 45th overall pick of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Bergeron spent the entirety of his 19-year NHL career with the Original Six club. In 1,294 career games, he recorded 427 goals, 613 assists, 1,040 points, and a plus-289 rating. He also posted 50 goals, 78 assists, 128 points, and a plus-42 rating in 170 career playoff games. This includes scoring two goals, with one being the game-winner, in Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final against the Vancouver Canucks

Bergeron also won the Selke Trophy an NHL-record six times during his career due to his elite two-way play. He did not slow down during the later stages of his career, either, as he won the Selke in each of his final three seasons. With this, there is no question that Bergeron did plenty enough to earn this spot on the NHL Network's quarter century team.

However, Bergeron is the only current or former Bruin who made this list, as players like David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Tuukka Rask did not make the cut. Longtime Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is also not on the NHL Network's quarter century team, but that is because this list only included players who made their NHL debut on or after Jan. 1, 2000. Chara made his NHL debut for the New York Islanders during the 1997-98 season.
