The Boston Bruins have added to their coaching staff, as they have hired Jay Leach to be an assistant coach.
Leach is certainly a familiar face, as he was previously the head coach of the Providence Bruins from 2017 to 2021. Now, three years later, he is once again back in the Bruins organization.
Leach has experience as an assistant coach at the NHL level. He held the position with the Seattle Kraken for each of the last three seasons and was a candidate for their head coaching job before they hired Dan Bylsma. However, he is now going to Boston.

Leach, 44, also played his first two career NHL games as a Bruin during the 2005-06 season. In 70 career games split between the Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, and Devils, he had one goal, two assists, and a plus-3 rating.
