Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

Matt Grzelcyk is one of the Boston Bruins' most notable free agents. The Bruins are expected to let the Massachusetts native hit the market after his down season. This is unsurprising, as he fell dramatically on the Bruins' depth chart and appeared in only three playoff games.

Yet, when noting that Grzelcyk has plenty of experience and has played top-pairing minutes, there will be interest in him in free agency. Let's discuss three teams who could look to add him now.

    Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks should be watched closely when it comes to Grzelcyk. The left side of their defense is quite weak and could use a boost because of it. Furthermore, the Blackhawks' left side could use more experience, as it has two youngsters, Alex Vlasic and Kevin Korchinski.

If the Blackhawks signed Grzelcyk, he would be an immediate fit on their second pairing. In addition, his puck-moving ability would give Chicago another option for their power play.

    San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks could look to sign a defender like Grzelcyk this offseason. They need to improve their defense significantly if they hope to be more competitive for when Macklin Celebrini arrives. This is especially the case when it comes to the left side.

Grzelcyk would be a strong addition to the Sharks' second pairing if signed. He would also work on both their penalty kill and power play, as he would immediately be one of their top defenders if signed.

    New York Islanders

The New York Islanders will likely browse the market for a left-shot defenseman this offseason. Both Sebastian Aho and former Bruins defender Mike Reilly are pending UFAs and could walk. As a result, the Islanders could look to upgrade their bottom pairing by adding Grzelcyk.
