The Boston Bruins are preparing for a massive 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The Original Six club have the seventh-overall pick, so they will be looking to land a very good prospect with it. This is especially so when noting that they sport one of the weakest prospect pools in the NHL.

This draft is full of promising young players, so the Bruins have a good shot at landing a top prospect that could become a key part of their future. However, with this draft class being a bit of a wild card, it is hard to predict which player the Bruins will end up picking with their seventh-overall pick.

Due to this, let's go over five intriguing prospects who the Bruins should consider selecting with their first-round pick.

    James Hagens, C, Boston College

If James Hagens is still available at the No. 7 spot, it would not be surprising in the slightest if the Bruins selected him. It is no secret that the Bruins desperately need to improve down the middle, and the expectation is that Hagens will blossom into a top-six center at the NHL level later down the road.

Hagens showed great promise during his first season with Boston College in 2024-25, posting 11 goals, 37 points, and a plus-21 rating in 37 games. The 18-year-old forward undoubtedly had a strong first collegiate season with BC, and he would be a major pickup for the Bruins' prospect pool.

    Jake O'Brien, C, Brantford Bulldogs

Jake O'Brien is a prospect who the Bruins have been connected to, and it is entirely understandable. The 18-year-old center has dominated in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and undoubtedly has top-six potential. With this, the 6-foot-2 forward would make a lot of sense for the Bruins to use with their seventh-overall pick if he is still available once they are up.

Bruins Rumors: 4 Players Boston Could Trade This Summer Bruins Rumors: 4 Players Boston Could Trade This Summer The Boston Bruins blew up their roster at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Brad Marchand, Brandon Carlo, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic were among the players the Bruins moved as a result of their terrible 2024-25 season.

After posting 13 goals and 64 points in 61 games with the Bulldogs in 2023-24, O'Brien recorded 32 goals and 98 points in 66 contests this campaign with the OHL squad. Clearly, the skilled playmaker took a massive step forward in his development this campaign, so he is somebody who the Bruins could very well end up picking this year.

    Brady Martin, C, Soo Greyhounds

Brady Martin is undoubtedly a prospect to watch at the draft if he is still available once the Bruins are on the clock. Martin already confirmed that the Bruins are one of the teams that he had dinner with leading up to the draft, and it is simple to see why. Martin is not only a highly skilled prospect but also plays a very heavy game. Thus, the 6-foot center could fit in beautifully in the Bruins' system, which could use an offensive player who also provides plenty of bite.

Boston Bruins Linked To Gritty Top Prospect Boston Bruins Linked To Gritty Top Prospect The Boston Bruins are preparing for a massive 2025 NHL Entry Draft. After an ugly 2024-25 season, the Bruins have the seventh-overall pick in the draft and have the opportunity to land a very good prospect because of it.

Martin broke out this season in the OHL with the Soo Greyhounds, too. In 57 games this season, he recorded 33 goals, 72 points, 68 penalty minutes, and a plus-25 rating. This was after he had 10 goals and 28 points in 52 games last season with the club. With this, he is trending in the right direction big time and could be the kind of player the Bruins take a shot on with their seventh-overall pick because of it.

    Anton Frondell, C, Djurgardens IF

Anton Frondell is another exciting forward who would make a lot of sense for the Bruins to pick. The 6-foot-1 center had an excellent 2024-25 season with Djurgardens IF, posting 11 goals and 25 points in 29 games. This is impressive when noting that Frondell is just 18 years old and was playing against professional talent.

Frondell would provide the Bruins another promising center with the potential to become a legitimate top-six forward if selected. This is because he is very skilled offensively and has gotten a ton of praise for his strong defensive praise. Due to this, he could be exactly the kind of two-way center the Bruins look to add if he is available.

    Porter Martone, RW, Brampton Steelheads

Yes, the Bruins absolutely need help down the middle, and they will have plenty of center options to consider with their first-round pick. Yet, if Porter Martone has still not been picked once the Bruins are up to select, the Bruins should absolutely consider selecting him. The 6-foot-3 right winger has all the tools to become a star power forward in the NHL, and there is no question that the Bruins need help on the wing, too.

Bruins News: David Pastrnak & Pavel Zacha Land Big Opportunity Bruins News: David Pastrnak & Pavel Zacha Land Big Opportunity Team Czechia has revealed the first six players who will be on their roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, and Boston Bruins forwards David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha have made the cut.

Martone just put together a fantastic season in the OHL with the Brampton Steelheads this campaign. In 57 games, the Peterborough, Ontario native set new career highs with 37 goals, 61 assists, and 98 points. However, besides having plenty of offensive potential, he is also not afraid of the physical side of the game. This only adds to his appeal, and he would be a marvelous addition to Boston's prospect pool.
