The Bruins should seriously consider claiming this Kings forward off waivers.

The Los Angeles Kings made a notable roster move today, placing forward Arthur Kaliyev on waivers. The 23-year-old forward has wanted a change of scenery from the Kings for a while, and now that could come to fruition if he gets claimed.

When noting that the Boston Bruins' offense is ice-cold yet again and Kaliyev is a young forward with past NHL success, he is a player they should consider taking a chance on.

Kaliyev just finished a conditioning loan with the Ontario Reign of the AHL after missing the beginning of the season due to injury. In five games with the AHL squad this season, he has one goal and one assist. This is after he had seven goals and 15 points in 51 games last season with LA.

While Kaliyev had a down year with the Kings last season, he showed in 2022-23 that he has the potential to be an impactful forward. In 56 games that campaign, he had 13 goals and 28 points. He also had 14 goals and 27 points in 80 games as a rookie in 2021-22.

If the Bruins claimed Kaliyev on waivers, he would provide them with another skilled option for their struggling third line. In addition, the 6-foot-2 forward has an easily affordable $825,000 cap hit until the end of this season.

With the Bruins needing more offense, Kaliyev could be a nice low-risk, high-reward player for them to take a shot on. Let's see if they do just that from here.
