The Bruins should look to keep this forward around.

Boston's Cam Neely Could Be Next On The Hot Seat

The Boston Bruins will be a very interesting team to watch at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Bruins president Cam Neely said last month that the team is considering two paths: buying or retooling.

Given Boston's season, it is easy to understand why they could be sellers. They have been incredibly inconsistent and currently do not hold a playoff spot.

One player who has been discussed as a potential trade candidate is pending restricted free agent Morgan Geekie. However, it would be wise for the Bruins to hold onto the 2017 third-round pick instead.

After a brutal start to the season, Geekie has bounced back in a big way down the stretch. He now has 16 goals, 28 points, and 80 hits in 51 games this campaign. He is currently one of Boston's top offensive contributors, ranked third on the team in goals and fifth in points.

A significant reason for Geekie's improved play has been his new-found chemistry with linemates David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha. The trio have worked incredibly well together, and the Bruins should seriously consider keeping Geekie around because of it rather than trade him.

It will be intriguing to see what the Bruins end up deciding to do with Geekie from here.
