The Bruins should try to bring back Tyler Bertuzzi if he hits the market.
Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney has made it clear that his goal is to improve the club's offense this summer. Besides adding a first-line center, the Bruins are also expected to browse the market for top-six wingers.
With the Bruins looking for more scoring, they should seriously consider the prospect of bringing back Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi if he hits the market.
Bertuzzi, 29, worked magnificently for the Bruins as a rental during the 2022-23 season. In 21 regular-season games with the Bruins after they acquired him, he had four goals and 16 points. He followed that up with an electric postseason, recording five goals and 10 points in seven games.

While the Bruins and Bertuzzi could not get a deal done last offseason, the Original Six club could consider targeting him again this summer. The Bruins easily have the cap space to get a deal done with him if he hits the market, and he would improve their top six. He would also give them more bite and toughness, which is needed.
Given how well Bertuzzi fits in with the Bruins, it is fair to wonder if they would at least consider targeting him if the Maple Leafs can't agree to a new deal with him. Having the skilled agitator back on their roster would be far better than dealing with him as an opponent.
Bertuzzi appeared in 80 games this season with the Leafs, posting 21 goals, 43 points, and 98 hits.
