This Islanders star showed the Bruins why they should aim to acquire him.

The Boston Bruins secured an impressive 6-3 win over the New York Islanders on Wednesday night (Nov. 28). While the Bruins picked up two points, Islanders forward Brock Nelson certainly did not make it easy for them.

Nelson scored two goals against the Bruins, including the one that tied the game up at 3-3. In addition, the veteran forward also had an assist on Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov's first-period goal. With this, he now has three goals and seven points in his last three games.

With Nelson creating trade chatter and the Bruins needing another top-six forward, he is a player they should have on their radar. His play against the Bruins last night effectively demonstrated this.

    Brock Nelson

Nelson is in the final season of his contract and could become available if the Islanders don't turn their season around nearing the deadline. At this point of the campaign, they have an 8-10-5 record. Even with the Islanders struggling, Nelson is having a strong year, posting 10 goals and 17 points in his first 23 games.

Nelson would be a big-time addition for the Bruins, as he is a consistent 30-goal and 60-point threat. In his previous three seasons, he scored at least 34 goals. In addition, he had 69 points in 2023-24 and 75 points in 2022-23. Thus, he would provide the Bruins' forward group with a massive boost if acquired.

    Brock Nelson

If the Bruins acquired Nelson, he could be an excellent replacement for Morgan Geekie on the first line with Pavel Zacha and David Pastrnak. A trade for Nelson would allow Zacha to move back to left wing, but the former is also capable of playing on the wing if needed. In addition, Nelson would give the Bruins another notable scoring threat for their power play.

Nevertheless, with the Bruins needing another scoring forward, Nelson is easily one of the top players they should watch.
