This Bruins forward is standing out as a potential trade candidate.

The Boston Bruins have been browsing the trade market in hopes of improving their roster. This is entirely understandable, as they have struggled with consistency this season and have already fired former head coach Jim Montgomery.
However, given the Bruins' current cap situation, they may need to move an NHL roster player if they hope to make a trade. Because of this, forward Morgan Geekie is standing out as a prime potential trade candidate.
Geekie has had a rough season thus far, as he has one goal, four points, and a minus-7 rating in 17 games. He has also received plenty of chances in the Bruins' top six, but he has yet to break the ice. Thus, some buzz has been surrounding him as a trade candidate.

Geekie carries a $2 million cap hit until the end of the season and is a pending restricted free agent. Thus, if the Bruins do not view him as a long-term part of their plans, it seems possible that Geekie could be used in a move to bring in new talent.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Geekie this season from here. With the Bruins open to make some changes, he is a clear player to watch.
