During a recent appearance on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Boston Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm shared an update on where he's at with his injury recovery.

"I'm doing great," Lindholm said to insider Elliotte Friedman. "It's been, obviously, frustrating for me personally and for the team, but had a lot of time to kind of refocus and kind of coming back here and get going for this season and coming back to full health, if not even better. That's been my focus.

    Lindholm then added:

"I've been skating with Rogle. There are in training camp now, so I've been fortunate to be able to pick up the pace there a lot and getting contact and playing like full games on and stuff. That makes it way easier for me in my rehab process and skating, and it's been feeling great. So, I'm excited for the season."

Lindholm also confirmed to Friedman that he will be ready for the start of the season.

Lindholm was limited to only 17 games this past season with the Bruins, where he posted three goals, seven points, and a minus-4 rating. His season ended on Nov. 12 against the St. Louis Blues after he suffered a fractured patella from blocking a shot from defenseman Justin Faulk. The 2012 first-round pick attempted to come back during the season but was unable to recover quickly enough.

As a result of this, it is excellent to hear from Lindholm that he is feeling great and is ready to return to action for the Original Six club. He is their best defenseman after Charlie McAvoy, and they undoubtedly missed him tremendously this past season after he got injured.

When Lindholm is healthy and playing at his best, the Bruins are a better team. This is because he is steady defensively and also capable of providing solid offense from the point. In 73 games with the Bruins in 2023-24, he recorded three goals and 26 points. This was after he had 10 goals, 43 assists, 53 points, and a plus-49 rating in 80 games for the Bruins in 2022-23. If he regains his 2022-23 form, that would be huge for the Bruins.

Nevertheless, it is going to be very interesting to see what kind of season Lindholm can put together for the Bruins in 2025-26. There is no question that his return should provide the Bruins' blueline with a major boost.
