This Bruins goalie got some praise from head coach Jim Montgomery.
The Boston Bruins picked up a big 3-0 win on Saturday (Nov. 2) against the Philadelphia Flyers. Joonas Korpisalo was a major reason behind it, as he saved all 20 Flyers shots he faced.
Following the game, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery made sure to give Korpisalo a nice shout-out regarding his recent play. Here is what the Bruins' bench boss said about the goalie:
"His last start was really good. You can see him getting more and more confident. He's finding his groove. It's someone that we believed in as an organization before we acquired him, and now he's starting to really show his form."
Hearing Montgomery give Korpisalo some praise following his strong performance is entirely understandable. The 30-year-old has been looking more solid as of late, as he also saved 17 out of 18 shots in the Bruins' Oct. 29 loss to the Flyers. That loss was undoubtedly not his fault, as the Bruins did not score a single goal in that contest.
It will now be fascinating to see how Korpisalo performs from here. He is trending in the right direction, and that is excellent news for Boston.
