The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Viktor Arvidsson from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick. Irfaan Gaffar was the first to report that the Bruins were bringing in Arvidsson.
Arvidsson had been in the rumor mill this off-season, as he struggled to find his fit in Edmonton, and the Oilers needed to free up cap space. Now, he is heading to Boston, where he should give the Bruins a much-needed boost on the wing.
Arvidsson appeared in 67 games this season with the Oilers, where he posted 15 goals and 27 points. Overall, it was a down year for the 32-year-old forward, but there is clear reason to believe that he can bounce back. The veteran forward is a five-time 20-goal scorer and has recorded at least 48 points in five different seasons. This includes during the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Kings, as he posted 26 goals and 59 points in 77 games.
