The first day of NHL free agency is here, and it is going to be a big day in the league. While several of this year's top pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs) have re-signed with their clubs, there are still some interesting names hitting the market who the Boston Bruins could consider targeting.

One star pending UFA who has linked to the Bruins is Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser. However, based on a recent report, he might not be the only pending UFA on Boston's radar.

According to The Fourth Period, the Bruins are one of the teams that could go after Winnipeg Jets star winger Nikolaj Ehlers if he hits the free-agent market.

It would make a lot of sense if the Bruins made a serious push for Ehlers. They undoubtedly could use another top-six left winger, especially with the Original Six club trading Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers at the deadline. Furthermore, the Bruins were interested in bringing back Marchand before he re-signed with Florida, so it is fair to assume that they want to improve at the left wing position.

It will be intriguing to see if the Bruins end up being the team that lands Ehlers in free agency. With the 29-year-old forward being one of the NHL's top UFAs, he is going to be an incredibly popular target.
