Former Boston Bruins forward Reilly Smith was healthy scratched by the New York Rangers for their latest contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
Smith's surprising scratch came after the Rangers lost five straight games. In addition, Chris Kreider and Filip Chytil returned from injury for the matchup.
Smith, 33, has had a decent start to the season, posting three goals, 12 points, and a plus-1 rating in 22 games. However, he has cooled off as of late, posting just one assist to go along with a minus-3 rating over his last five games.

Smith appeared in 163 games over two seasons with the Bruins, where he had 33 goals to go along with 91 points.
