This former Bruin brought a slump that haunted him for over a decade.

The Dallas Stars may have fallen to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 on Thursday night, but Tyler Seguin surely did his part to try to secure them the win. The former Boston Bruins forward scored each of the Stars' two goals and was a threat all night, recording six shots.

With Seguin getting on the board, he broke a major drought. It was Seguin's first goal in the Conference Finals since his rookie season with the Bruins in 2011. Thus, he had not scored a goal in the Conference Finals for 13 years.

Seguin also joined some elite company in getting this goal, as he became the seventh player in NHL history to score in the Conference Finals as a teenager and in his 30s. The only other players who have done this are Dainius Zubrus, Brendan Shanahan, Eric Desjardins, Bryan Trottier, Ted Lindsay, and Hec Kilrea.

Over that 13-year gap between goals, Seguin appeared in 20 Conference-Final games. As a result, the 2011 second-round pick was undoubtedly due, and he showed up in a big way in Game 1.

Seguin will now look to stay hot and get the Stars right back into this series. He is still stepping it up at the right time, as he has five goals and seven points over his last six games.
