Former Boston Bruins forward Jakub Lauko is taking his talents overseas, as he has signed with HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga.
Lauko became an unrestricted free agent (UFA) after the Bruins elected not to tender him a qualifying offer. Now, after spending a month on the free-agent market, Lauko has decided to head overseas to play for HC Dynamo Pardubice.
Lauko appeared in 56 games this past season split between the Minnesota Wild and Bruins, where he had five goals, six assists, 11 points, 119 hits, and a minus-13 rating. In 18 games with the Bruins after being re-acquired by them at the 2025 NHL trade deadline from Minnesota, he had two goals, three assists, five points, and 50 hits
In 101 games over two stints and three seasons with the Bruins, Lauko had eight goals, 14 assists, 22 points, 63 penalty minutes, and 270 hits.
Given Lauko's high energy style of play and toughness, it certainly seemed possible that he would end up on another NHL club. However, he is instead heading back to Czechia, and it will be fascinating to see how he performs overseas from here.
