For much of the 2023-24 season, former Boston Bruins forward Frank Vatrano was a popular name in the rumor mill. It is understandable, as the East Longmeadow, Massachusetts native had a career year on a rebuilding Anaheim Ducks team. Naturally, due to his impressive play, he generated interest, but the Ducks elected not to move him before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.

While Vatrano currently remains with the Ducks, there is no question that the former Bruin is once again a player to watch in trade talks for this upcoming season.

Vatrano, 30, is entering the final season of his three-year, $10.95 million contract, which he signed with the Ducks during the 2022 NHL Offseason. With the Ducks still rebuilding, they could look to move Vatrano if he does not express interest in an extension. He is too valuable of an asset for the Ducks to potentially lose for nothing.

There should be plenty of interest in Vatrano if he becomes available for the taking next season. The 5-foot-11 forward is coming off an All-Star season, posting new career highs with 37 goals, 23 assists, 60 points, and 156 hits. Overall, playoff teams looking for more scoring and grit on the wing would likely love to have a player like Vatrano on their rosters.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with the former Bruin this upcoming season from here.
