This Boston Bruins star provided a positive update regarding his next contract.

The Boston Bruins still need to re-sign star goaltender Jeremy Swayman as we inch closer to September. With Swayman being the Bruins' clear No. 1 goalie and coming off a spectacular postseason, Boston fans have naturally felt some concern about his new contract not being finalized. In addition, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that the Bruins and Swayman "weren't close" on a new deal.
While the Bruins and Swayman clearly still have more work to do to finalize this new contract, he expressed optimism to NESN that it will be done.
Here is what Swayman said on the matter: "There’s a lot of confidence, and I say that because I’ve treated it like business as usual this year. I’ve been at [the team's training facility], I’ve been working out with our guys, our staff, our players. And I know that there’s something special building in this locker room this year, and I can’t be more excited about that."
Swayman also added: "I know that it will take care of itself with time, and all I can do is control how I’m going to be a better goalie for the Boston Bruins this year. So, that’s all I’m focused on. And I know, again, it will work out, and I couldn’t be happier to be a Bruin.”

It is certainly good to hear that Swayman is confident that he and the Bruins will get a new contract done and that he is very happy to be in Boston. We will now need to see how much longer it takes for this new deal to come to fruition from here.
