The Anaheim Ducks have signed former Boston Bruins forward Frank Vatrano to a three-year, $18 million contract extension.
According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Vatrano will be paid $3 million per year in base salary and then $9 million in deferred salary. With this, he will make $900,000 per year for 10 years beginning in 2035.
Seeing the Ducks keep Vatrano around is not too surprising. The 30-year-old winger has blossomed into a key forward for them. In 37 games this season with the Ducks, he has nine goals, 20 points, and 99 hits. This is after he set career highs with 37 goals, 23 assists, and 60 points last season.

With the Bruins needing more offense, Vatrano could have been a nice rental for the Original Six club to reunite with. However, that possibility can now be forgotten with Vatrano landing this new deal.
