Earlier today, former Boston Bruins forward Austin Czarnik landed a one-year contract with SC Bern of the Swiss National League. Now, another ex-Bruin is heading overseas.

On Saturday, Lukko of the Finnish Liiga announced that they have signed forward Karson Kuhlman to a one-year contract.

Kuhlman, 28, spent the entirety of this past season in the American Hockey League with the Bridgeport Islanders. In 72 games with the AHL squad, he posted 12 goals and 22 points. It was the first time since the 2017-18 season that Kuhlman did not see any NHL action.

Kuhlman began his professional career with the Bruins and served as a solid depth forward for them. In 75 games with the Bruins over four seasons, he posted seven goals, 15 points, 111 hits, and a plus-2 rating.

Kuhlman's time with the Bruins ended when he was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Kraken during the 2021-22 season. He played for the Kraken until he was claimed off waivers by the Jets during the 2022-23 season.

It will now be intriguing to see what kind of season the former Bruin puts together in Finland from here. If he does well, perhaps another NHL club could take a shot on him next offseason.
