Jakub Lauko sent a thank you message to the Bruins following his trade.
The Boston Bruins made a small move on Saturday, trading Jakub Lauko and the No. 122 pick of this year's draft (Aron Kiviharju) to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Vinni Lettieri and the No. 110 pick (Elliott Groenewold).
Following the move, Lauko posted a message on his Instagram account to both the Boston Bruins and Providence Bruins.
Lauko said: "Thank you @nhlbruins & @ahlbruins for unforgettable 6 years. Excited to get things going with @minnesotawild."
Lauko sending a short but sweet message to the Bruins organization was nice to see. Clearly, he appreciated his time with the Original Six club, and now he will look to make an impact with the Wild from here.
The Bruins selected Lauko with the 77th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, which was acquired from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Frank Vatrano. After three seasons in the AHL with Providence, Lauko got his first chance with the NHL squad during the 2022-23 season. In 23 games that season with Boston, he had four goals and three assists.
Lauko spent the entirety of this past season with Boston, posting two goals, 10 points, and 176 hits in 60 games. While he did not dominate the scoresheet, Lauko became a popular player among Bruins fans because of his high work ethic and gritty style of play.
