At the 2025 NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins acquired forward Casey Mittelstadt from the Colorado Avalanche as a part of the Charlie Coyle trade. The Bruins bringing in Mittelstadt was understandable, as they needed another playmaking center in their top six. The 2017 first-round pick is just that when playing at his best, as he is coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 58 points.

So far, Mittelstadt has been off to a very solid start since being acquired by the Bruins. On March 8 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he recorded an assist and had a plus-2 rating. He then followed that up by recording the primary assist on David Pastrnak's third-period goal against the Florida Panthers on March 11.

Overall, Mittelstadt has shown that he has the ability to help create offense early on in his Bruins tenure. Now, his goal will be to keep this kind of play up against the Ottawa Senators on March 13. This is a crucial matchup for the Bruins, as a win would help them pass multiple teams in the Eastern Conference wild card standings.

It will be interesting to see if Mittelstadt can stay hot against the Senators from here. In 65 games this season split between the Avalanche and Bruins, he has 11 goals and 36 points.
