The Boston Bruins have made multiple additions to their roster this off-season. A few of them include Viktor Arvidsson, Tanner Jeannot, Sean Kuraly, Matej Blumel, and Alex Steeves. With this, they have given their forward group a bit more depth, which was needed.

However, it is also fair to state that they still could use another skilled winger in their middle six before the season is here. With this, they should seriously consider pursuing Columbus Blue Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov.

Chinakhov's agent, Shumi Babaev, announced that the young forward has requested a trade from the Blue Jackets. Since then, Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell also told The Athletic's Aaron Portzline that they know about Chinakhov's trade request and have already had trade discussions about him.

Given the Bruins' need for more both more youth and skill, Chinakhov is precisely the kind of forward that they should be taking a chance on. The 2020 first-round pick has shown promise early on in his career, and a change of scenery could help him take that next step and blossom into a true top-six forward.

Chinakhov has already demonstrated that he can produce offense at the NHL level, as he set career highs with 16 goals, 13 assists, and 29 points in 53 games with the Blue Jackets during the 2023-24 season. He followed that up with seven goals and 15 points in 30 games this past season for Columbus.

Ultimately, with the Bruins retooling, it would make sense for them to make a push for a skilled former first-rounder like Chinakhov. When looking at the Bruins' lineup, he could slot nicely on their second line and would also give them another clear option for their power play if acquired.

As a result, he hit the market as an unrestricted free agent (UFA) on July 1. Now, after going a little over two weeks unsigned, Kuntar has found his new home.
